Razza Munir – PR Specialist / Founder MMFF

Rohail Amjad

Razza Munir is a PR specialist and the founder of the renowned social and digital media platform named MMFF ( Music, Movies, Fashion, and Food). Tonight he joins us for an interview, lets see what he talks about

Rohail Amjad: Assalam o Alaikum and Thanks for giving me time, Hope you’re good. What was the concept behind naming your PR agency as “MMFF”?

Razza Munir: Actually MMFF is Music, Movies, Fashion, and Food, we started off with a Facebook group which transformed into a social and digital media platform, so we continued with the same, so all our friends and family can relate to it.

Rohail Amjad: The PR industry is growing in Pakistan, acquiring a client must a difficult, how do you manage low–balling?

Razza Munir: The PR industry has grown of course but hasn’t matured, many of the new entrants don’t even know what PR stands for, mostly Instagrammers have started doing PR, which is good as long as they do quality work, working for free or less is bringing down the professional PR agencies as they cant perform in fewer budgets.

Rohail Amjad: What is the most difficult part for you in relationship management?

Razza Munir: Managing the client’s demands in the limited budget they offer, plus the patience, once a campaign is executed it is very difficult and risky to get the balance payments without a hassle.

Rohail Amjad:  What do PR agencies in Pakistan lack?

Razza Munir: “Professionalism” as there is no structure or body to write down any rules, PR in Pakistan is like a self-taught subject, everyone is doing with whatever limited knowledge they have, most don’t focus on clients goals they are more into their own short term benefits

Rohail Amjad: There is no such institute teaching Event Management in Pakistan. Is this field entirely based upon personal contacts?

Razza Munir: There are a few big names in event Management,  few used to offer internships as well, mostly it’s self thot, learning on your own. Getting the business is on personal contacts, most of the big events ( 5000 plus people) don’t even have a proper event management company as the friends of organizers is given the job based on his/her experience of managing a kitty party.

Rohail Amjad: Is PR a full time job or is it done as a part time?

Razza Munir: Some companies are doing it full time, few I would say as for me the margins have squeezed and it cant be a full-time job, especially this covid situation has almost ended this industry as well.

Rohail Amjad: Thank you so much, Razza for giving me time. It was really a pleasure talking to you. Wishing you all the best. Allah Hafiz

Razza Munir: thanks for having me on the show, likewise. Allah Hafiz
